Service line 01  ·  Claim estimating

Estimates that hold up when the carrier pushes back.

Xactimate scopes, code-cited F9 justification, and supplement documentation for restoration contractors, public adjusters, and roofers. One estimator, every file — the person who wrote the line item is the person who defends it.

ScopeWhat gets written

The estimate is the argument. It should read like one.

Most estimates lose money in the same places: scope that was never captured, line items with no stated basis, and supplements submitted after the position was already given away. Everything below is built to close those gaps before the file goes back to the desk.

  • EST

    Xactimate estimating

Residential and commercial, written from your field measurements, adjuster scope notes, or aerial and 3D reports. Priced to the correct list and date of loss, sequenced the way the work actually gets built.

  • SUP

    Supplement justification

The scope that surfaces after demo, or that never made it into the first estimate. Identified, priced, and tied to what is already documented in the file — not asserted.

  • F9

    F9 note drafting

The narrative under the line item: what it covers, why it is there, and what the adjuster needs to see to approve it without a phone call. Written per item, not pasted.

  • CODE

    Code-cited scope defense

Convergent citation across OSHA requirements, the IRC and IBC, and manufacturer installation instructions — so a contested item rests on published authority instead of on opinion.

  • RFG

    Roof takeoffs and bids

BUR, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, standing seam, and steep-slope. Squares, tapered insulation layouts, edge metal, penetrations, and accessories, in a format you can hand to a customer or attach to a claim.

ProcessFour steps

How a file moves.

  1. Send the file

Photos, adjuster scope notes, measurements, any prior estimate, and the date of loss. Incomplete is fine — the gaps are useful information.

  2. Scope review before writing

You get a read on what is missing, what is mispriced, and what will not survive review, before a single line item is keyed.

  3. Estimate and F9 notes

Written in Xactimate with justification attached at the item level, delivered as an ESX and a PDF you can send as-is.

  4. Revisions through settlement

When the carrier responds, the answer comes back documented. Files are not abandoned at delivery.

RangeWhat comes in

The range, not the roster.

Client work does not get turned into marketing. What follows is the shape of the files that come across the desk — commercial storm and fire losses through residential rebuilds.

Work typeWhat it covers Files handled
Commercial fire loss Structure, specialty equipment, roof systems, supporting trades through $5M+
Commercial hail and wind Metal, BUR, modified, single-ply; envelope and interior to high six figures
Residential fire and water Gut-to-studs rebuild, mitigation scope, supervision five to six figures
Roof takeoffs and bids Steep-slope and low-slope, replacement and new construction $40K – $250K+

Client, carrier, insured, and location detail is never published — including yours.

RoleWhere the line is

TradeOfi writes estimates. It does not adjust claims.

Writing an estimate is not a licensed activity. Settling a claim, advocating for a homeowner, or arguing policy language is — and TradeOfi does none of those.

The public adjuster carries the license and owns the relationship with the insured and the carrier. TradeOfi documents scope and cost, and stops there. No calls with the insured about what their policy covers, no position taken on coverage, no negotiating on anyone's behalf.

For adjusters, that means capacity without license exposure — the work product is yours, under your license, on your letterhead. For contractors, it means an estimate that rests on scope and code rather than on a claim you are not licensed to make.
